"Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you (O Muhammad sal-Allaah 'alayhe wa sallam ) till you follow their religion, Say: "Verily, the Guidance of Allaah (i.e, Islaamic Monotheism) that is the (only) Guidance, And if you (O Muhammad sal-Allaah 'alayhe wa sallam ) were to follow their (Jews and Christians) desires after what you have received of Knowledge (i.e, the Qur'aan), then you would have against Allaah neither any Wali (protector or guardian) nor any helper." [Al-Baqarah (2):120]

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr:
Once the Prophet remained behind us in a journey. He joined us while we were performing ablution for the prayer which was over-due. We were just passing wet hands over our feet (and not washing them properly) so the Prophet addressed us in a loud voice and said twice or thrice: "Save your heels from the fire." [The Book of Knowledge Volume 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 57]
