  • "O you who believe! Follow not the footsteps of Shaitaan (Satan), And whosoever follows the footsteps of Shaitaan (Satan), then, verily he commands Al-Fahsha' [i.e, to commit indecency (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.)], and Al- Munkar [disbelief and polytheism (i.e, to do evil and wicked deeds; to speak or to do what is forbidden in Islaam, etc.)], And had it not been for the Grace of Allaah and His Mercy on you, not one of you would ever have been pure from sins, But Allaah purifies (guides to Islaam) whom He wills, and Allaah is All-Hearer, All-Knower." • Narrated Abu Musa:

The Prophet was asked about things which he did not like, but when the questioners insisted, the Prophet got angry. He then said to the people, "Ask me anything you like." A man asked, "Who is my father?" The Prophet replied, "Your father is Hudhafa." Then another man got up and said, "Who is my father, O Allah's Apostle ?" He replied, "Your father is Salim, Maula (the freed slave) of Shaiba." So when 'Umar saw that (the anger) on the face of the Prophet he said, "O Allah's Apostle! We repent to Allah (Our offending you)." [The Book of Knowledge Volume 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 92]
