  • "And We brought the Children of Israel (with safety) across the sea, and they came upon a people devoted to some of their idols (in worship), They said: "O Moosaa (Moses)! Make for us an Ilaahan (a god) as they have aliha (gods)." He said: "Verily, you are a people who know not (the Majesty and Greatness of Allaah and what is obligatory upon you, i.e, to worship none but Allaah Alone, the One and the Only God of all that exists).""   • Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

    The Prophet said, "Amongst the trees, there is a tree, the leaves of which do not fall and is like a Muslim. Tell me the name of that tree." Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas. And I thought of the date-palm tree. The others then asked, "Please inform us what is that tree, O Allah's Apostle?" He replied, "It is the date-palm tree." [The Book of Knowledge Volume 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 59]
