  • "They ask you (O Muhammad sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) what is lawful for them (as food ), Say: "Lawful unto you are At-Tayyibat [all kind of Halal (lawful-good) foods which Allaah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits, etc.)], And those beasts and birds of prey which you have trained as hounds, training and teaching them (to catch) in the manner as directed to you by Allaah; so eat of what they catch for you, but pronounce the Name of Allaah over it, and fear Allaah, Verily, Allaah is Swift in reckoning."" [Al-Maa'idah (5):4]

  • Narrated Abu Huraira:

    The Prophet said, "(Religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious scholars) ignorance (in religion) and afflictions will appear; and Harj will increase." It was asked, "What is Harj, O Allah's Apostle?" He replied by beckoning with his hand indicating "killing." (Fateh-al-Bari Page 192, Vol. 1) [The Book of Knowledge Volume 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 85]
