  • "Or say you that Ibraaheem (Abraham), Ismaa'eel (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya'qoob (Jacob) and Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya'qoob (Jacob)] were Jews or Christians? Say, "Do you know better or does Allaah (knows better.., that they all were Muslims)? And who is more unjust than he who conceals the testimony [i.e, to believe in Prophet Muhammad sal-Allaah 'alayhe wa sallam when he comes, written in their Books, (See Verse 7:157)] he has from Allaah? And Allaah is not unaware of what you do."" [Al-Baqarah (2):140]

  • Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr:

The Prophet said, "Whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up.
    1. Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays.
    2. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.
    3. Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous.
    4. Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner."
