  • "Then, We sent after them, Our Messengers, and We sent 'Eesaa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him the Injeel (Gospel), And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him, compassion and mercy, But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them, but (they sought it) only to please Allaah therewith, but that they did not observe it with the right observance, So We gave those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allaah)." [Al-Hadeed (57):27]

  • Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

    Allah's Apostle said, "Amongst the trees, there is a tree, the leaves of which do not fall and is like a Muslim. Tell me the name of that tree." Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas. And I thought of the date-palm tree but felt shy to answer the others then asked, "What is that tree, O Allah's Apostle ?" He replied, "It is the date-palm tree." [The Book of Knowledge Volume 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 58]
